Facebook and mobile game developer Kabam has brought its Dragons of Atlantis franchise to mobile with the release of Dragons of Atlantis: Heirs of the Dragon on iPhone and iPad. The game is a completely new installment in the franchise, designed specifically for mobile, and unconnected to the Facebook version of the game.
The game gives players a chance to raise their own army of 3D modeled dragons while also working to rebuild the lost society of Atlantis. Players must journey throughout a magical land fighting barbarians and defending their dragons, raising them from hatchlings and watching them grow and come to life with over 50 new animations.
“Dragons of Atlantis is one of Kabam’s biggest franchises, generating more than $100 million in gross revenue in less than three years,” said Andrew Sheppard, president of Kabam Studios, via a company release. “Fans have wanted a mobile version for quite some time, and Kabam has once again demonstrated its unique ability to seamlessly bring a popular Web game to mobile. We’re confident this new experience stays true to the brand and will exceed fans’ expectations.”
In keeping with the original Dragons of Atlantis, Heirs of the Dragon features in-depth social features, including the ability for players to join alliances, talk over real-time chat and compete against others via Game Center supported challenges.
The original Dragons of Atlantis was released in 2010. It currently has 300,000 monthly active users, according to AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
Dragons of Atlantis: Heirs of the Dragon features support for 13 different languages, and is now available to play for free on iPhone and iPad. The game is supported via microtransactions, allowing players to speed up the actions within the game. You can follow its progress on AppData.
