Jon Peters Sexual Harassment Testimony Gets Scant Local Media Attention
It may just be the fact that this litigation is being argued in the heat of August, a notoriously vacation-happy media month. Still, it seems rather strange that at press time, only the Daily Breeze saw fit to summarize for SoCal readers the LA Superior Court testimony of a former personal assistant suing mega-producer Jon Peters for sexual harassment.
The August 12 allegations are a bigger deal beyond U.S. borders. Reuters Canada reported the story on Friday and today, the UK media is set to propagate the details thanks to a pick-up by the Daily Express and ContactMusic.com.
The now 44-year-old Shelly Morita claims that Peters cornered her a number of times during a 2005 Australia production trip for Superman Returns.
