Jim Roberts Will Work on a New Opinion Section for The Hill

He comes on as a consultant.

Jim Roberts has been hired as a consultant to help The Hill build out a new opinion section. He’ll report to editor in chief Bob Cusack.

“Jim has a proven ability to manage expansion into new verticals and guide the development of platforms and content that keep readers engaged,” said Cusack in a statement.

Roberts was the executive editor at Mashable until this spring, when the organization cut Roberts and a large number of its editorial staff as a result of a shift away from politics and international coverage in favor of more entertainment and tech coverage.

Roberts’ previous roles included stints at Reuters and The New York Times, where he had been assistant managing editor before taking a buyout in 2013.
