NYT Journo Makes Heroic Waves on DC Softball Field
This is pretty nuts. Per an item this afternoon on Roll Call, it turns out Jill Agostino, day editor at the New York Times D.C. bureau, went way above and beyond the call of charity duty during a late June Congressional Women’s Softball game. From Abby Livingston’s report:
“Heard on the Hill” has learned that the injury was far more extensive than initially thought — a torn hamstring — and Agostino is prepping for outpatient surgery…
Her captains repeatedly encouraged her to play only if the injury was not serious and to “not be a hero.”
