Jason Whitlock Departs ESPN

Another big name is gone.

ESPN and Jason Whitlock have once again parted ways. Whitlock’s departure comes after he was demoted as editor in chief of The Undefeated, a site that has yet to launch.

Whitlock rejoined ESPN in 2013. He previously worked for the company from 2002 to 2006.

“We have mutually agreed to part ways, which was Jason’s preference following the shift from his role as editor in chief,” said an ESPN spokesperson said in a statement. “Jason is a talented print and television commentator, and we wish him success in his next chapter. ESPN remains fully committed to The Undefeated and plans continue toward an official launch.”

Whitlock is the latest in a string of big name talent to leave ESPN. Over the past few months, Colin Cowherd and Bill Simmons have both left the company.
