Jamster, Fox Mobile Distribution’s game portal, has now added Incelligence’s “mobile info-tainment” applications to its roster, including programs such as “Green-Living Guide,” “Hip-Hop Dictionary” and “Mobile Medic.”
This represents a bit of a departure for Jamster, which normally focuses on pure mobile games, ringtones, and wallpapers instead of lifestyle applications. Incelligence, meanwhile, develops apps across a broad range of categories including health and nutrition, relationships, nature and animals, humor, wine and food, reference and education, and religion.
Last month, VeriSign exited the mobile content business by selling Jamster to News Corp for approximately $200 million. Some analysts expect News Corp to eventually sell Jamster to a company in Europe, where Jamster (known as Jamba over there) has a larger customer base.
