It’s Up to You: Life or Death for Magazines?

Just as soon as you pay off all your debt from the holidays, why not make your credit card companies happy again and book at flight to London this week for the “Magazines are Dead! Long Live the Magazine!” conference at the St. Bride Library. It’s a full day of magazine talk and includes such luminaries as Pentagram‘s Luke Hayman talking about designing New York magazine and Richard Spencer Powell, Monocle‘s Creative Director. And it couldn’t come at a better time, what with mix messages about the life-span of our shiny, coated, mini-book friends, what with Wal-Mart pulling the plug on 1,000 titles last week while Ad Age talks about the resurgence of glossy print.
