It's Official: Jodi Applegate Joins WPIX; Watkins and Tong Roles Announced
First on FishbowlNY: It had been rumored for several weeks, with News 12 Long Island anchor Jodi Applegate getting out of her contract to join WPIX.
After keeping the story close to the vest, WPIX/Channel 11 made it official this morning.
Applegate will be the solo weekday anchor for the PIX News at 10 p.m. starting Monday, October 4.
We now know the fate of veteran anchors Jim Watkins and Kaity Tong. The team had been front and center on WPIX at 10 p.m.
