Back in December a video of an iPad game for cats went viral, raking in over 1 million views. Months earlier, in April 2010, Iggy the cat raked in over 8 million views when he investigated a brand new iPad. It’s definitely evident that cats love iPads, and this week Friskies is jumping on the bandwagon with a whole set of iPad games just for your cat. Will you be downloading them for your kitty?
More info and links to the Friskies iPad games for cats can be found at GamesForCats.com. The games include Cat Fishing, where a fish swims around and your cat can try to catch it; Party Mix-Up!, where your cat tries to catch floating Friskies ‘Party Mix’ treats; and Tasty Treasures Hunt, where your cat tries to put his paw on a variety of tasty treats. Check the games out in action in the video below.
The video is, without a doubt, one of the most adorable things I’ve ever seen. But the question of whether people will actually download the games for their cats is still up in the air. I, for one, can’t help but wonder what sort of effect cats’ claws have on the iPad screen…and would you really want to put your iPad down on the floor for your cat to play with it?
I’ve got a feeling that a majority of the people who will wind up downloading these apps are only going to do it in order to make a quick YouTube video in the hopes that their cat will turn into an over night star, and that the game will quickly thereafter be forgotten about. But that’s just my opinion. What do you think? Would you download an iPad app for your cat?
