Apple has paid $4 billion to developers over lifetime of its app store
Apple’s chief financial officer Peter Oppenheimer said today that the company has now paid out more than $4 billion to developers, including $700 million in the fourth quarter.
This implies the App Store has generated more than $5.7 billion in revenue over its lifetime, and Apple has earned roughly $1.7 billion dollars from its 30 percent cut of revenues. In October, Apple revealed it had paid out $3 billion to developers over the lifetime of the App Store.
