Internet's Inventor Gets Top Webby Award

The guy who created this thing we now take for granted, you know, the thing that makes it possible for me to write this and for you to read this — the Internet. Well, in what is probably the best thing to happen to him since he was knighted in 2004, Sir Tim Berners-Lee will be honored with a Webby Lifetime Achievement Award next month.

Berners-Lee created the first versions of the technologies – including HTML, URL, and HTTP – that turned the Internet, previously a domain of scientists and researchers only, into a mass medium.
