Company 3 has hired visual effects compositer John Scheer. He will be part of the Santa Monica, Calif., company’s increased involvement in high-definition television commercials and visual effects production for feature films. For the past two years, Scheer has freelanced under the name Scheer FX, working on commercials for DirecTV through Deutsch/LA and Miller Lite via Ogilvy & Mather in Chicago.
