Instagram Users Can Now Share Photos Via Its Mobile Site

The new mobile web experience includes: post photos, browse feed and profile, search for accounts, view notifications, see suggested accounts and a lightweight version of Explore

Facebook experienced a great deal of user pushback when it stripped messaging capabilities from its flagship applications in 2014 and forced users to download Messenger, and the social network appears to be heading down a different path with Instagram.

In what appears to be an effort to enable users with poorer-quality connections to access Instagram—in the vein of Facebook Lite and Messenger Lite—Facebook boosted the functionality of Instagram’s mobile site, highlighted by the ability to share photos without going through the Instagram app.

A Facebook spokesperson confirmed the changes in an email to Social Pro Daily:

The new mobile web experience includes: post photos, browse feed and profile, search for accounts, view notifications, see suggested accounts and a lightweight version of Explore.
