Instagram Tops 500 Million Monthly Active Users, 300 Million Per Day

Instagram announced that it has topped 500 million monthly active users and 300 million daily active users, more than doubling in size over the past two years.

The Facebook-owned photo- and video-sharing network said in an email to SocialTimes that more than 95 million photos and videos are shared each day, and it totals some 4.2 billion likes daily.

Instagram added that more than 80 percent of its community is from outside of the U.S., but it still boasts more than 100 million U.S. MAUs.

The network reached 300 million MAUs in December 2014 and 400 million in September 2015.

Instagram said in a blog post announcing the milestones:
