In Memoriam: Richard Schroeder

Richard Carl Schroeder, who wrote extensively about trade, finance, politics and other issues concerning Latin America, died April 23 of heart disease at his home in Fairfax County. He was 75.

Mr. Schroeder also wrote about world population growth, U.S. immigration and drug-interdiction policy and U.S. foreign policy. He was a longtime contributor to Congressional Quarterly, Kiplinger and Encyclopaedia Britannica publications, as well as a variety of Latin America-focused publications such as the Times of the Americas, Vision and Americas magazine.
