Illium’s iPhone App Update Rejected Because of an Icon? Yes, Really

I have never written/blogged an obscene word. But, I came pretty close after reading Ilium Software’s Marc Tassin write about his latest iTunes App Store experience…

New Wave of Apple Rejections – Including eWallet!

eWallet for Windows Mobile is my all-time must-have app for that platform. So, what possible reason could Apple have for rejecting an update for this app on the iPhone? Would you believe Apple rejected it because of an icon in the app? I wouldn’t believe it either if I wasn’t so familiar with the firm and its people over the years. So, if that what Marc says, I believe it. This icon has, according to Marc, been in the app prior to the update submission. So, why did Apple get bent out of shape about it only now? No one really knows. Very weird behavior, Apple!

FYI: Embedded below is a podcast conversation I had with Ilium’s Ellen Craw and Marc Tassin on December 30, 2008. We discussed their Windows Mobile development background and their then recent iPhone app development work…
