Last year book retailers had their most successful eReader sales season and with new devices out, this year is already looking like it will beat last year’s sales. Amazon has already reported record sales for Kindles on Black Friday and device makers are pushing Cyber Monday sales.
But with all of these eReaders under the tree, what about giving eBooks? While print books make for great holiday gifts, the gift of an eBook is a little bit more confusing. But not to worry, Amazon and Kobo both let you gift a specific eBook, choosing the delivery date with the email address of the recipient. And iBooks, Nook and Sony all have gift card options (as do Amazon and Kobo).
To help shoppers figure it out how to do this, digital publisher Open Road Integrated Media made the above video. It demonstrates how you can gift eBooks using these various different retailers. Open Road is running a 60% off sale on its digital books to help support the campaign.
