To get the gig, you need to have a nose for news, as you’ll be working with a team of journalists to utilize social platforms and live blogging to monitor, report and publish stories. If you can consume and process large amounts of information, and translate it into clear, concise reports with a distinct voice, you’re golden.
Resume-wise, three to five years of experience managing social media accounts for a news organization will get your foot in the door, but you should also be well-versed in live blogging and breaking news.
