If you're going to produce an infographic about reaction on Facebook to the death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, it might not be the worst idea to check on the spelling of "Zuckerberg."

If you’re going to produce an infographic about reaction on Facebook to the death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, it might not be the worst idea to check on the spelling of “Zuckerberg.”

That being said, the infographic below, from Simplify360 and Starcom MediaVest Group, did present an interesting fact or two:

  • Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg’s status update on Jobs’ passing totaled nearly 390,000 likes, more than 27,000 shares, more than 176 comments, and over 1,100 tweets at the time of the post.
  • In the 24 hours after Jobs’ death was made public, there were some 143,000 status updates devoted to the Apple icon, at a rate of 1.6 per second.
  • The spectacles favored by Jobs were similar to those also worn by his two idols, John Lennon (Simplify360 and Starcom MediaVest Group, there are two Ns in Lennon, not one!) and Mahatma Gandhi.
