Everyone knows that Jerry Seinfeld is in love with himself now more than ever. Remember that damn-near cringe-inducing interview with Larry King? Hell… that was only the tip of the iceberg.
But when Seinfeld traveled to Israel to promote Bee Movie‘s Hebrew-language opening, he outdid himself:
“When I was here at the age of 15 and I worked in the kibbutz, nobody really was very interested in meeting me,” he said.
“Every day I would be in the fields and nobody wanted my autograph. And nobody wanted to take their picture with me. They just let me hack away at those banana leaves. I didn’t meet the prime minister even once back then,” he said in mock shock.
But during his visit to premiere the Hebrew version of his animated film, Bee Movie, Seinfeld was lionized.
Seinfeld met with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and President Shimon Peres while overseas. But listen… we completely understand that Israel’s way off in the Middle East and does not see too many American celebs. Respectfully, Mr. Olmert & Mr. Peres you’re only enabling Jerry Seinfeld’s ego to become bigger. And that’s the last thing the world needs.
