hopTo has announced the public launch of its mobile workspace iPad app of the same name, bringing cloud-based document creation and editing to professionals on the go, with support for connecting back to computers remotely. Originally released earlier this year, the hopTo app has received a major update in an effort to become a “one-stop shop” for users.
hopTo aggregates a user’s documents on personal and professional computers, as well as cloud storage services including Box, Dropbox and Google Drive. Users can create and edit MS word and Excel files via the app, as well as store and browse photos, videos, PowerPoint presentations and more.
The app offers support for file sharing, file searching and for program multitasking. For example, a hopTo user could simultaneously browse images or videos stored on a home PC, edit a word doc that’s been saved on Google Drive and review a spreadsheet saved on Dropbox, all without leaving the hopTo app.
“With hopTo, we are providing the most powerful mobile productivity app available to the tens of millions of iPad users, elevating their tablet to an extensive personal and business mobile productivity solution,” said Eldad Eilam, CEO of hopTo, in a company statement. “Professionals who are constantly required to be accessible and responsive while on the go now have an easy to use, more complete way to succeed in the ‘always-on’ world.”
When hopTo users make changes to their documents, the newest version is automatically synced to the document’s original location. Users can also ‘favorite’ the files they access most often.
