Social Dashboard HootSuite Goes Down After DoS Attack, But No Data Compromised

We’re big fans of HootSuite at AllTwitter and I personally have been active on the social media dashboard for close to 5 years now. Indeed, it’s something I use each and every day, throughout the day, so when it goes down, I notice. Quickly.

Yesterday, at 6.45am PST, HootSuite experienced a denial of service (DoS) attack, with the platform’s servers flooded with traffic by a malicious third party. And down she went.

The outage lasted over an hour, but HootSuite was quick to respond, both with updates from its @HootSuite_Help
