Hollywood Reporter Goes Fully Digital With THReviews As Trade Wars Heat Up

While Variety is laughing at itself, The Hollywood Reporter is saying put ’em up.

The HP is diving into the digital domain with the launch of THReviews, an online portal that brings together in-depth reviews, news and plenty of info about film, music, TV and even the Internet.

Clicking on thr.com/reviews should bring you all the Hollywood content you could ever desire.

THReviews will feature all existing review content from Nielsen Business Media entertainment brands — including The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Nielsen EDI, Nielsen Online, Nielsen SoundScan and Nielsen VideoScan — as it relates to film, television, music concerts and albums, and home entertainment (DVD). It will also feature video produced by Nielsen brands, as well as user-generated comments and reviews.

Online Entertainment Review Portal Will Provide One-Stop-Shopping for

Latest Reviews, Information and News on Movies, Music and Television

Los Angeles, CA – November 21, 2008 – The Hollywood Reporter today announced it will launch THReviews, an online entertainment review portal that brings together the latest in-depth reviews, information and news on all forms of entertainment including movies, music, and television, providing a one-stop-shopping resource for entertainment enthusiasts. The portal will combine premier content from leading properties across The Nielsen Company, The Reporter’s parent company, with valuable data that is unrivaled in the marketplace. THReviews will launch on November 26 and can be accessed at thr.com/reviews.

The broad appeal of THReviews content will serve the entertainment professional, pro-sumer and consumer audience segments alike. Currently, more than 65% of traffic to THR.com enters the site through search referral to the News and Reviews pages. The creation of THReviews will provide an opportunity for The Reporter, as well as Nielsen’s other entertainment brands, to further engage this audience and add value to their user-experience.

THReviews will include information such as:

Film – Review snapshot, cast and crew credits, trailers, related reviews, upcoming releases, box office grosses, user comments and reviews, and data regarding online buzz.

TV – Review snapshot, cast and crew credits, trailers, related reviews, TV schedules, ratings, user comments and reviews, and data regarding online buzz.

Music/Concerts – Album or concert review snapshot, charts, videos, related reviews, upcoming concerts and album releases, top ringtones and downloads, user comments and reviews, and data regarding online buzz.

Home Entertainment – Review snapshot, charts, videos, upcoming DVD releases, top digital downloads, user comments and reviews, and data regarding online buzz.

THReviews is the latest in a series of digital initiatives that have generated tremendous momentum and broadened The Hollywood Reporter’s reach and impact both domestically and internationally.
