Hollywood Film Festival Honors SAG -- Why Exactly?

The 12th Annual Hollywood Film Festival, scouring the trades and the blogosphere for press, will kiss ass big time to the Screen Actors Guild.

The Fest, chaired by Oscar-winner Paul Haggis and presented by Starz Network, will give an award celebrating the 75th year of Screen Actors Guild’s existence. Nobody is quite sure why

“For the past 75 years, SAG has distinguished itself as a powerful, unified voice on behalf of artists’ rights. We commend SAG for its continued commitment to its membership,” said Carlos de Abreu, Founder and Executive Director of the Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards.

“I am pleased and gratified at the tremendous honor the Hollywood Film Festival is bestowing on Screen Actors Guild during our historic 75th anniversary year.
