Engadget has a nice collection of Android 2.1 screenshots from the Nexus One (Google Phone)…
The only thing visibly different to my eyes are the thumbnails of five home screens (my Droid is limited to three home screens, btw) on the last screenshot.
It is nice to see that the Android 2.1 unlock screen is the same as the new unlock screen that greeted Droid users whose phone where upgraded to 2.01 last week Friday.
So, we’ll have to wait for someone with actual hands-on usage to report what’s new under the Android 2.1 hood in the near future.
And, as I said yesterday, I’ve learned I preferred the Android’s landscape screen keyboard to the Droid’s physical (awful) keyboard. So, I’m no longer put off by the Nexus One’s keyboardless design. I still would, however, like to have a smartphone with a “good” physical QWERTY keyboard.
