Starting today, Manny Ruiz, co-founder and CEO of Hispanicize, the Hispanic social media and blogger network, and chief PapiBlogger, will be live blogging his family’s summer vacation. The trip will include travel to 18 states by train, car, raft, and cruise ship with stops at destinations including Dollywood, Yosemite, and Disneyland.
This is the second year that Ruiz will be making the social-media-infused family trip, taking his wife and three kids — ages 11, seven, and two — along for the ride. Besides the blogging, there will also be video, Facebook updates, and posts to Twitter and Flickr.
The trip will also be tracked on Disney’s new Facebook page, Disney World Latino. Disney along with Buick (which is providing the “PapiMobile”) are sponsors of the trip.
PapiBlogger is a place for parenting ideas, and Ruiz told PRNewser that his goal for this project is to “inspire families to [create] their own memories and be creative.” Separately, Ruiz says he hopes this project will provide a gateway for building relationships between brands and bloggers, whether those brands or bloggers are Hispanic or not.
“We’re hoping that what we do really paves the way for brands to take bigger steps with bloggers,” Ruiz said.
