Reuters reported that the social network is looking to fill nearly 1,200 positions “in the near term,” with many of those related to its Oculus VR virtual-reality acquisition, its desire to deploy drones to boost Internet connectivity and growth at its data centers.
The hiring spree would boost the social network’s stable of 8,348 full-time employees as of the end of last September by up to 14 percent, according to Reuters, which added that 54 of the jobs listed on the Facebook Careers site were for positions at Oculus VR.
