Hootsuite's uberVu system can crunch data from 20 different social media platforms, including Reddit, Facebook, Google+, Twitter, YouTube, Blogger, Yahoo Questions, Vimeo, etc.
And today the British Columbia-based tech player is releasing a "Love List," or the top brands in terms of positive sentiment across the social Web from November. Hootsuite looked at 450 of the world's top companies and examined millions of likes, retweets, favorites, comments, shares and other metrics to determine the best performers.
There are a lot of strong names in the ranking such as Friskies, which has jumped on the cat Internet meme phenomena of recent years—with Grumpy Cat, in particular—to create serious social buzz. But how about Chanel and the CW? Chanel proves that often socially adverse luxury brands can kill it in the space, while the CW continues to quietly beat the TV competition.
