Heidi Jones Pleads Guilty to Fake Assault, Gets Community Service

In a final, sad chapter for Heidi Jones, the former WABC/Channel 7 weather anchor pleaded guilty yesterday to falsifying a claim of assault in 2010.

The Daily News says Jones was ordered to perform 350 hours of community service, and was sentenced to probation.  The 350 hours, prosecutors say, represent the time police investigated her phony claims.

The one-time rising weather forecaster, who also did some work for ABC’s Good Morning America, has also been ordered to undergo psychiatric counseling.
