Hearst exec Kimberly Lau has joined The Atlantic in the newly created role of Veep and GM for Atlantic Digital.
Lau, who begins on June 15, will oversee audience engagement and expansion; strategic content and business partnerships; mobile and video product development; and new distribution and syndication platforms.
Her past: Before joining The Atlantic, Lau was Vice President of Business Development and Partnership Relations for Hearst Magazines Digital Media, the unit responsible for creating and executing the digital strategy for the company’s 20 magazine brands and 24 websites, including Cosmopolitan, Esquire, and Good Housekeeping. During her six-year tenure there she focused on developing digital growth opportunities and strategic partnerships, working closely with Hearst’s portfolio of Web properties to drive new e-commerce efforts.
Last year, Lau spearheaded the development of two channels for the YouTube Premium Channel initiative—Hello Style, a fashion and beauty channel featuring the content of Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Seventeen, and Realbeauty.com, and Car and Driver Channel, featuring automotive news.
