Vogue Managing Editor Jon Gluck Succeeds Eliot Kaplan at Hearst

His career has also encompassed New York magazine and Men's Journal

When Eliot Kaplan let colleagues know in July that he would be retiring from Hearst, the vice president of talent acquisition started off his note with a nod to the swirling beat of 21st century media reporting:

Sorry about the mass email, guys, but I realized that if I slowly told you individually, the word would leak out.

Kaplan also noted that he was tired of commuting three hours every day and that when Hearst president David Carey asked if he would stay till the end of the year to help find and groom a successor, he agreed.
