Hearst Digital’s Green Revolution

TheDailyGreen.com is Hearst Digital’s environmental web resource aggregator. Lauched last November, TheDailyGreen has five editors and ”10+” bloggers posting, daily, on the environmental lifestyle. A Hearst spokesperson emailed FishbowlNY about the site: ”Deborah Barrow … is the founder of the site and has a long-time personal commitment to environmental issues through her work on volunteer boards, including a stint as president of Hudson River Heritage a 501(c)(3) dedicated to preservation of the historic and natural viewsheds along the Hudson River. One of her defining talents as a media executive is the ability to identify content that is accessible, intellectually stimulating, and relevant, and package it in a way that’s appealing to readers and advertisers alike. She is also renowned for her eye for ‘expert’ talent and has assembled an experienced team dedicated to environmental issues.”

FishbowlNY also asked about the Hearst Magazine’s ReImagine You campaign, which integrates magazine print content, digital media and video focusing on fashion, home, and eco-friendly products for Spring. A Heart Magazine’s spokesperson explained, ”The ReImagine You outsert features profiles of people re-imagining their lives and homes. Content includes a kitchen by Country Living, a bedroom by House Beautiful, a garage by Popular Mechanics, a family/media room by O at home and fashion by Redbook. Experts from each of these magazines helped develop the looks for the people and rooms featured in the well of the outsert.”
