Hachette Puts Shutters Up on Home

Amid an economic slump that has taken a particularly big toll on the shelter category, Hachette Filipacchi Media has shuttered its long-struggling Home magazine.

In a statement, Hachette president and CEO Jack Kliger said Home would suspend publication with the October issue and that Hachette would consider publishing it in the future as a special interest publication on the newsstand.

The closure affects about a dozen employees, although Hachette is looking to place publisher Jack Grant and a few others at the company, a spokesperson said.
