Grantland Loses an Editor

Grantland editor Lane Brown is heading back to New York magazine. Brown left New York last February to help Bill Simmons start up his then-unnamed literary web venture. Seven months later, with Grantland up and underway, Brown must feel like his job is done.

Grantland deputy editor Dan Fierman had nothing but kind words to say of Brown in a farewell post: “Lane was instrumental in building this site into what it is today, and as hard as it is to imagine this office without him, we appreciate everything he did and wish him luck in the brave new frontier of ‘print.’
