GoUSABid.com Tops 1M Signatures in Push to Host World Cup
GoUSABid.com, an online petition aimed at bringing the FIFA World Cup soccer tournament to the United States in 2018 or 2022, said it passed the 1 million signature mark.
The site launched its new design in June, during FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa.
The FIFA Inspection Committee is due to visit the United States and inspect proposed stadiums and training sites next week.
GoUSABid.com also said more than 70,000 respondents sent more than 488,000 emails using the “Tell-a-Friend” tool, adding that more than 1,300 watch parties for the 2010 tournament were created, with all 32 World Cup teams represented and more than 20,000 RSVPs.
