Gordon McLeod to Step Down as Newsday Publisher

A change at the top.

Gordon McLeod, who has served as Newsday Media Group’s publisher since 2014, is stepping down. The move will be effective July 2.

In a memo to staffers, McLeod said the decision to leave was “personal” and “Leading this organization has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me thanks to the talent and commitment of all of you.”

McLeod joined Newsday from the tech company Krux, where he served as president. He previously served as president of The Wall Street Journal Digital Network.

Newsday Media Group senior vp, general manager Ed Bushey and senior vp digital and editorial director Debby Krenek will co-manage NMG following McLeod’s departure.
