Republicans would literally rather choose a dead guy than pick between Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
That’s according to a recent piece from “Being Moody,” in which CNN Politics’ senior digital correspondent, Chris Moody, asks just one question to several GOP presidential hopefuls at South Carolina’s Conservative Freedom Summit: “who do you believe is the greatest living president today?”
“Obviously the greatest president of my lifetime is Ronald Reagan,” said Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.
“I’ll leave that to the people to decide,” said Texas Senator Ted Cruz, blatantly avoiding Moody’s question. “Certainly the greatest president of recent generations was Ronald Reagan.”
“Living president? I really talk about a president who died relatively recently is Ronald Reagan,” said Donald Trump.
In case you need a reminder, Reagan, the anointed patron saint of the modern Republican Party, has been in the ground for about 11 years now.
