Google Video Doodle Celebrates with Comtemporary Charlie Chaplin

You may recall Google’s first video doodle celebrating John Lennon’s 70th birthday with an illustrated animation last October. This time, the new Chaplin doodle aims for classic silent-era Chaplin with a mix of slapstick humor, and certainly: the walk, the double-looks, the smile and the mustache.

Google celebrates one of film’s most influential stars and most talented film actors of all time, Charlie Chaplin, was born on April 16, 1889. George Bernard Shaw spoke of Chaplin as “the only genius to come out of the movie industry”. The American Film Institute ranked Chaplin the 10th greatest male screen legend of all time.

Google has been keeping pace with socially significant anniversaries like Yuri Gagarin’s first trip in space and the world’s first ice cream sundae.
