Google Plus Adds YouTube Playlist Feature…Finally!

Well folks, it’s finally happened—YouTube has arrived in Google Plus!

Well folks, it’s finally happened—YouTube has arrived in Google Plus!  YouTube now exists as a permanent attachment near the top of the scrollbar.  Just click on it, enter a topic that you’re in the mood for and an automatic playlist of 20 related videos is created for you.  Sufficed to say, I think people are going to be spending a lot more time on Google’s social network.

How does it work?  Just hover over the YouTube icon on the right side of your screen and it will scroll open to ask you, “What would you like to play?”  You can enter a topic, like “dogs” (woof!), or a musician, like “Kenny G” (of course!), and a playlist of related videos starts playing automatically.  Of course you’re invited to +1 or ‘Share’ any of the videos with your network on Google+.

Since Google Plus launched many people have been wondering how long it was going to take before Google would integrate YouTube into the site.  I mean, YouTube is crazy popular and Google does own YouTube and all…so why not integrate it?  Sure, you could watch synchronized YouTube videos with your friends on Google Hangouts and share YouTube videos.  But what if you could actually search for,  watch and share YouTube videos directly from Google Plus?  Looks like the time is now!

I’ve got a feeling that we’re going to start seeing not only a whole lot more sharing of YouTube videos on Google Plus, but also people spending a lot more time on the site as they listen to playlists of music and more.

If you haven’t tried out the new YouTube playlist feature on Google Plus yet go check it out now!  What would you like to play? p.s. I was just joking about the Kenny G.  Well, sort of…
