Google Health Offers Document Uploading, Storage

Google Health hopefully deploys greater security measures than Twitter, as the site deployed a new feature that allows patients to upload scanned paper documents into their accounts, providing a centralized and secure place to store medical records online, according to TechCrunch.

The site suggests uploading an “advance directive,” which outlines end-of-life wishes if the patient is unable to communicate. Google Health is working with Caring Connections on that feature.

Google told TechCrunch it is taking lengthy measures to ensure data security, associating invite links to specific email addresses and allowing users to track who has viewed their records, all of which are read-only.
