Google Has 'Not Done Anything' about Google Maps App for iOS

If you updated your iPhone to iO6, you will have to wait for a Google Maps app.

Apple decided not to use Google as the default maps app with the new operating system, creating its own maps program instead. Android users can download the Google Maps app here.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, Google has not started working on a Google Maps app for the iPhone. Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt revealed the news at a press conference in Tokyo today.

Here’s the quote: “We’ve not done anything yet … We’ve been in touch with them for a long time [about Google Maps], and we talk to them every day … In my opinion it would have been better to retain our maps … It’s their decision, I’ll let them describe it.”
