Three Google executives were facing six months in jail for a YouTube video, uploaded in 2006, that showed four students bullying an autistic boy.

Reuters reports that Google’s senior vice-president and chief legal officer David Drummond, global privacy counsel Peter Fleischer, and former Google Italy board member George De Los Reyes were acquitted of privacy violations in an appeals court in Milan, overturning a previous ruling from February 2010.

Prosecutors had cited their negligence in failing to remove the video until two months after Web users had requested that the video be taken down.

Google said that the executives, who were not based in Italy, had nothing to do with the upload of the mobile phone clip that was taken by students at a school in Turin.
