Google App Inventor for Android Has a New Home at the MIT Media Lab Center for Mobile Learning

Google is consolidating its work in 2011. It shut down Google Labs and a number of experimental projects under its umbrella. One of the project casualties is App Inventor for Android which lets non-developers quickly prototype mobile app ideas using web-based graphical programming tools. However, this project has a happy ending and a new beginning. Google is providing seed funds to the MIT Media Lab to continue the project.
