Google Acquires eBook Technologies
Google has acquired eBook Technologies in a deal whose terms have not been disclosed. The acquisition, which comes only a month after the launch of the Google eBookstore, will help Google make deliver rich media eBooks on tablets and eReaders.
eBook Technologies announced the news on their website. The site reads: “Working together with Google will further our commitment to providing a first-class reading experience on emerging tablets, e-readers and other portable devices.”
The Wall Street Journal has more: “It was not immediately clear how Google intends to use eBook’s technologies, which include an end-to-end electronic book platform offering a full range of ebook products and services.
