Gizmodo Media Group Appoints Susie Banikarim Editorial Director
She will oversee Gizmodo, Deadspin, Jezebel, Jalopnik, Kotaku, Lifehacker, Splinter and The Root
Susie Banikarim, a veteran of Vocativ, Newsweek The Daily Beast and ABC News, as well as a former Harvard Nieman Fellow, has just landed one of the best jobs in digital journalism: editorial director at Gizmodo Media Group. She succeeds Katie Drummond, with the added responsibility of Splinter and The Root.
Banikarim will be based in New York and report to GMG CEO Raju Narisetti. From the announcement:
“Susie is taking on the newsroom leadership role at Gizmodo Media Group at a time when our journalism is robust and attracting new, and growing, audiences,” says Narisetti.
