How many stock photos can you buy for $96 million? A whole lot. And that’s just what Getty Images will be getting from Jupitermedia Corporation (which, incidentally, is mediabistro.com warm and loving parent company). In a deal announced today, Seattle-based Getty Images—which, as you’ll recall, Hellman & Friedman took private this summer—will buy Jupitermedia’s online images business, Jupiterimages, for $96 million in cash. Jupitermedia’s board of directors has approved the deal and it will now go up for a shareholder vote. But fear not, UnBeige readers, Jupitermedia will continue to operate its five-pronged online media business, which consists of mediabistro.com, graphics.com, internet.com, EarthWeb.com, and DevX.com. And we’re pretty sure that this is going to mean more Halloween candy for us.
