Facebook is prompting its mobile users, at least on iOS, to download the official Facebook Messenger application.

When iOS Facebook app users navigate to chat, either by sliding the home screen to the right or clicking on the head icon on the top right of the app, those who have not already installed Messenger may see the prompt pictured above. Clicking “install” leads to the iTunes App Store, where users can download the free app.
