Geraldo: no nudge

The LAT reports that Geraldo Rivera is threatening to sue the NYT unless the paper retracts the claim made in an Alessandra Stanley Katrina coverage-analysis piece that he “nudged an Air Force rescue worker out of the way so his camera crew could tape him as he helped lift an older woman in a wheelchair to safety.”

Was there a nudge, or no nudge? Rivera says he has a tape showing no nudging. But in an email to the LAT, Stanley wrote: “I have looked at the tape again, and am satisfied that I described it fairly.”
