Gannett Co, which has been trying to cut 3 percent of its workforce across its 85 newspapers, has started cutting.

At the Indianapolis Star: 37, including 17 in the newsroom.
At the Des Moines Register: 36, including at least 7 in the newsroom.

At the Poughkeepsie Journal: 16.
