GameSpot Logs Record Audience Figures

E3 2009—the videogame industry’s annual marquee gathering—has been a traffic boon to GameSpot, as the CBS-owned site has reported two days of record audience and streaming figures this week.

As E3 kicked off in Los Angeles on Monday (June 1), GameSpot attracted 2.8 million unique users and 1 million video streams—both records, according to its internal data. That day, among many buzzworthy announcements, Microsoft executives introduced a new motion-sensitive controller for the Xbox 360 console.

Then, on Tuesday (June 2), GameSpot exceeded those record-setting numbers, as the site generated twice as many video streams—a whopping 2 million—and attracted 3.1
